Library eCard


There are two types of library cards you may apply via the HKUST Alumni App. Simply present the Library eCard on your app to access to library services. Please activate your alumni eCard via alumni app with your alumni email account (@alumni / @connect.ust.hk) to enjoy the alumni services and privileges.

 

Borrower’s Card

Apply for a Borrower's Card with an annual fee of HK$100 with borrowing privileges and more. The first year's fee of Borrower's Card is waived for HKUST Alumni Association members (Full Members).

*Application is suspended on every Thursday morning for the payment gateway to perform regular weekly settlement. The suspension will be taken place on the next working day if Thurday is a public holiday. Please be reminded to apply the day before if you wish to enter the library and borrow its resources.

Reader’s Card

Apply for a Reader's Card with an annual fee of HK$50. Holders of this card have no borrowing privileges.

*Application is suspended on every Thursday morning for the payment gateway to perform regular weekly settlement. The suspension will be taken place on the next working day if Thurday is a public holiday. Please be reminded to apply the day before if you wish to enter the library.

 

 

Please note:

  • If you have already got the valid physical Reader's Card or Borrower's Card, this printed card will be invalid once you have successfully logged in on the app.

  • You must show the eCard on your app to access the service. No screen caps will be accepted. The details of the service will be displayed after clicking each eCard and your photo can also be enlarged after clicking. You may be requested to enlarge the photo and show it on the app to staff of University for identity verification.

  • The application fee, either for the Reader's or Borrower's Card, is not refundable or transferrable once paid.

  • Alumni who graduated with a Graduate Diploma or Postgraduate Diploma are not eligible for applying library cards.

  • All visitors are reminded to observe the rules here.

 

 

 

Alumni e-Resources

  • This service provides access to selected databases at a cost-recovery annual subscription fee. A 20% discount off the subscription fee is offered to HKUST Alumni Association members (Full Members) and HKUST BOC Alumni Credit Card holders.  Please click here for details.

The above-mentioned library services are available for HKUST Degree holders only. Graduate/Professional Diploma holders etc. are not eligible for these services.
