In contrast, donations from alumni, although individually smaller, have the potential to create a significant impact when pooled together. Your generous donation will be allocated to projects supported by Alumni Endowment Fund (AEF). The principal of the endowment fund is maintained in perpetuity, and only the income generated from investment of the principal is utilized and expended, allowing your contribution to continue benefiting future generations of students and initiatives for years to come.

All universities in Hong Kong charge tuition fees that fall short of covering the full cost of their operations.  In fact, tuition fees only account for a small portion of the expenses associated with educating each student. HKUST cannot achieve its lofty goals by relying solely on government grants and subsidies. To elevate ourselves from great to truly world-class status, we need diverse funding sources that provide the flexibility to support our most critical initiatives.
