

As a member of the Swire International Young Fellows, Jeffrey was one of the very few international students at HKUST in his day. After completing his studies at HKUST and then in the USA, Jeffrey returned to his homeland Germany in pursuit of a career in life sciences. Today, he is s Senior Project Manager at Global Biotech Company. Zurich is his second home and he continues to broaden his horizons through his frequent business travels.
Jeffrey appreciates the knowledge, skills and networks that he gained at HKUST, all of which have contributed greatly to his career development. In particular, he is grateful for the many friends he made at HKUST. "I treasure very much the friendships we have built. Today we are still keeping close ties," reminisces Jeffrey.
No matter where in the world he is, his enthusiasm for his alma mater remains strong. "HKUST, Hong Kong and the people I met there taught me a holistic approach to life. Though it took some time at the beginning to adapt to a new environment and a totally different culture, my education at HKUST has been the experience of a lifetime and is among the best time in my life." With Jeffrey's assistance, the first-ever HKUST alumni gathering in Frankfurt, Germany was held in 2011. He also participated in the HKUST Alumni Relocation Program as a host to help alumni and students settle in Germany.
