The Alumni Endowment Fund (AEF) supports student athletes through three main initiatives designed to help students pursue their passions and encourage excellence in sports.
AEF Scholarships for Sports Talent
This renewable scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding performance in regional or international sports competitions. By recognizing their talent, the scholarship alleviates financial burdens and motivates students to excel in both their athletic and academic pursuits, fostering a well-rounded educational experience.
AEF Overseas Sports Scheme
This initiative provides financial assistance to talented athletes competing on a global stage. It enables students to gain invaluable international experience, develop their skills, and represent HKUST worldwide.
AEF Athletic Awards
These awards recognize and celebrate the achievements of HKUST students or teams in international, local, or open competitions, as well as their contributions to the university’s athletic community.
SSCI International Research Enrichment Program
The School of Science’s IRE program allows undergraduates to engage in advanced research with world-class faculty. It offers mentorship opportunities and networking with leading scientists, including Nobel Laureates. Students gain hands-on experience through the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program and global exchanges, significantly enhancing their academic and research skills.
