Chris Pereira has over two decades of experience navigating China’s rapid transformation. As President and CEO of iMpact (美訊), he leads a global team dedicated to helping Chinese companies expand internationally by fostering trust and localized stakeholder relationships. iMpact has supported over 400 brands, including TCL and Longi Green Energy, and recently showcased the Vocci smart ring at CES 2026. Recognized as a Forbes Top 30 Innovator, Chris credits his HKUST MBA for providing essential strategic frameworks and a valuable international network.

His journey began with a degree in Chinese Language and Literature at Zhengzhou University. “In the early 2000s, China was moving at an extraordinary pace,” he recalls. “I wanted to experience that transformation from the inside.” Moving from Canada to China shaped his career and provided crucial insights into market dynamics.

Chris chose HKUST’s part-time MBA for its academic rigor and global perspective, allowing him to apply his learnings immediately and enhance his cultural fluency.

By 2020, Chris noticed that many Chinese companies excelled in cost competitiveness but struggled with international perceptions due to trust issues. This realization led him to found iMpact to help businesses navigate global markets through credible stakeholder relationships.
His proprietary “5R Integration” methodology focuses on Business, Government, Investor Relations, Human Resources, and CSR. Chris elaborates on this approach in his 2025 book, 新出海:中企海外本土化實戰手冊 (New Going Global), affirming that sustainable success requires alignment across these systems.

A recent highlight for iMpact was supporting Vocci, whose AI-powered ring gained significant attention at CES 2026. Chris emphasizes building brand identity over traditional advertising. With over 400 clients and a growing global team, iMpact aims to enhance engagement in key industries, including tech and renewable energy.
For those pursuing international careers, Chris advises, “Be culturally fluent, not just bilingual. Relationships matter everywhere.” He believes the future will favor businesses that prioritize trust and genuine connections.

Chris Pereira’s journey illustrates how an HKUST MBA empowers leaders to forge meaningful bridges in a complex global landscape, driving impactful change.
