What's better than to turn your interests into a career? Don is a former lecturer in Financial Engineering at HKUST. "Nature is written in mathematics, so should investments." Believing investments should be scientific and data-driven, Don and his friend Kelvin Lei co-founded an algorithm-based wealth management financial technology company, AQUMON, under HKUST's entrepreneurial program.
They first started in HKUST's library in 2016 with a vision to make investing smarter, simpler, affordable and transparent for institutional and individual investors in Hong Kong and beyond.
Fast forward to today, their robo advisor has successfully expanded from a 2-person startup to a team of over 90 talents with multiple offices in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Singapore. Keeping the HKUST to-do spirit in mind, they have gained the trust and partnered with 60+ large financial institutions such as Bank of China International and CMB Wing Lung Bank. Their AQUMON app is also helping everyday people in Hong Kong build their wealth in a more convienient, affordable yet intelligent way.
