After graduating, Carmen worked in a PR agency and then in the branding team at Unilever before founding her own accessory brand, CARMEN CHAN and design-oriented marketing firm, STUDIO C.

The accessory brand, CARMEN CHAN, aims to create designs that celebrate individuality and imperfection. Within the first year of launch, CARMEN CHAN was worn by worldwide fashionistas including fashion blogger, Micah Gianneli in Australia, Ria Michelle in Miami, blogger Cindy Ko, singer Kary Ng, actress Chrissie Chau, model Cara G and Jocelyn Luko in Hong Kong etc. CARMEN CHAN was also selected as the finalist of Lane Crawford Call Out in 2015 and one of "The Best Independent Jewellery Designers in Hong Kong" by Sassy Hong Kong in 2013. CARMEN CHAN is featured in publications around the globe including Fox TV, Fashion One TV Channel, Vanity Fair Magazine, Elle Magazine, Cosmopolitan Magazine, The Women's Weekly Magazine, So-en Japan Magazine, Nylon Singapore Magazine and etc. Carmen also works closely with international fashion brands including Yves Saint Laurent, Longchamp, JOYCE, and Borghese.

Her other business, STUDIO C, is a design-oriented company that provides marketing, public relations and design services. She believes design and communication are the critical essences of a successful campaign. By providing professional and visionary design and communication strategy, STUDIO C is a solution provider for clients to solve problems and develop business opportunities. Some of her clients include Taylor Swift, The Lane Crawford Joyce Group, Hang Lung Properties, K11, AXA, Chow Sang Sang, The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Design Centre, Johnson & Johnson, Mondelez International, Vinda, Vitasoy, and etc. 

"Studying at HKUST nurtured me to think strategically and logically to make a business work. Throughout my university life, I also worked in teams on a variety of projects that groomed me to be a leader as well as a team player at my company now. Of course, I made a lot of good friends in HKUST who are excelling in different fields - these connections are priceless. All have shaped me into who I am now," she elaborates.
