After graduation, Terry teamed up with several HKUST alumni and a friend to form 6waves, a leading publisher of independent games on social networks and mobile platforms. Despite coming from different disciplines, Terry and his fellow alumni partners work well as a team. Their experience at HKUST, which is very strong in technology and business, has helped them greatly with starting up their company.

6waves originated on Facebook and has since expanded into Yahoo! Mobage, Mixi and Hangame in Japan, Tencent in China, iOS and Android. 6waves has a presence in Hong Kong, Moscow, Beijing, Taiwan and Tokyo, and partners with developers worldwide to bring games to millions of users on its gaming network. Its investors include Insight Venture Partners and Nexon Co. Ltd. On top of its list of games are Farm Up Social, Wonderland Epic, Castle and many others.
