The First LIFS Alumni Reunion – A Highlight under Division of Life Science (LIFS) in 2018-19 Time flies and we are approaching the end of the 2018-19 academic year! This year, we hosted our very first Alumni Reunion on 18 May 2019 (Saturday) at the LIFS Living Room. The event was co-organized with the Life Science Alumni Association (LSAA, https://www.facebook.com/lsaa.hkust/) for students graduated from the former Department of Biochemistry and Department of Biology, and the current Division of Life Science. Over 50 students and colleagues joined in this homecoming event.   The Reunion was kicked off by welcoming remarks from Prof Zhenguo Wu (Acting Head of LIFS) and Mr Michael Chow (President of LSAA), followed by talks given by Prof Wu and Prof Robert Ko on the recent developments and new initiatives of LIFS, and sharing from 3 alumni speakers – Mr Johnson Leung (BSc Biology; Founder, 300cubits), Mr Bird Tang (BSc Biology; Co-Founder, VolTra), and Mr Gerald Wong (BSc Biochemistry; Founder, Infinity Dance Studio). Several other faculty members, Prof King-lau Chow, Prof Robert Qi, and Prof Yung-hou Wong were also invited to say a few words to welcome our alumni back. The event was concluded by a reception for further mingling and a Badminton for Fun session at the seaside sports center on the campus. The afternoon was filled with friendship, laughter, touching stories, and good memories of ‘Those were the Days’.   Thanks to those alumni who returned to campus for the Reunion! We hope you enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect with your peers, professors, and others in the Life Science community. We are looking forward to seeing you again in our future gatherings!   Last but not the least, we would like to thank Dr Ice Ko who initially came up with the idea and subsequently spent a lot of her own time organizing the event together with LSAA and the LIFS general office (especially the UG Team and Peggy).
