Tami is a Partner at Ernst & Young Hong Kong specializing in Transaction Tax and PRC tax. Over the course of her career, she led her team to conduct tax diligence and cross-border structuring works for the proposed acquisitions of a diverse range of corporations, including real estate investments, cosmetics, manufacturing as well as retail companies.
Tami claims that she did not have a lot of understanding about the accounting industry when she was a university student, and it was the Business Law class in HKUST that set her mind on being a consultant. She obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Accounting) degree from HKUST and joined Ernst & Young Hong Kong upon graduation.
In 2002, she was seconded to Ernst & Young Shanghai office for two years, where she obtained extensive consultancy and compliance experience in relation to PRC tax matters. She is also a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and an Associate member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
In her spare time, Tami enjoys exercising and is a teacher in training for BarreAmped. When asked about her life motto, she responded: “In order to succeed in both work and leisure, I believe a person should first try his/her best to find out what they enjoy doing.” Tami is a mentor to HKUST students, giving them valuable advice in life and career planning.
