Manson has been with the Electrical & Mechanical Services Department of the HKSAR Government for many years where he was involved in the development of a mobile X-ray vehicle inspection system for the Customs and Excise Department, the electronic and video system for the Wetland Park, and the IT system for the World Trade Conference. He currently holds the position of Engineer in the department.

Manson also serves as a committee member for various organizations including the Association of Engineering Professionals in Society and the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE). He is dedicated to sharing his insights about the path of an engineer with the younger generation, and his outstanding contributions were recognized by the 2009 HKIE Young Engineer of the Year Award – Certificate of Merit.
