Eric graduated from HKUST with a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering and later from the Kellogg-HKUST Executive MBA. He is currently the President of Sinomax Group Limited, a top manufacturer, distributor, and marketer of viscoelastic pillows, mattress toppers and mattresses in the USA, Hong Kong and mainland China.
 
Upon receiving his first degree, Eric worked as a software developer before he and several classmates decided to try their hand at entrepreneurship and formed an IT start-up. The brief adventure gave Eric valuable insight into running and managing a business, paving the way to a long service career in Sinomax, the family business he officially joined in 2003.

One of the biggest challenges at the time, Eric recalls, was the vastly different management philosophies of the two generations of senior management. On the one hand, the first generation had built the company from scratch and was used to doing everything on their own, while on the other hand, Eric was more focused on maximizing the Group's potential, increasing market penetration and fueling sustainable business growth of Sinomax. 

Eager to find a way to bridge the gap so that the company can be steered to greater heights, Eric decided to join the Kellogg-HKUST Executive MBA program. The decision turned out to be a good one: the program broadened his horizon and helped him develop a more systematic way of thinking; it also introduced him to like-minded classmates from whom he learned best-practices and case studies across different industries.
 
In 2013, Eric took up the position of President and is responsible for the overall management, business development, daily operations and business strategies of the Group. Under his leadership, Sinomax bolstered its presence in different geographical markets and horizontal markets by enhancing production capacity, improving product mix and expanding its sales network, successfully transforming itself from a manufacturing-focused company to a one-stop solution provider for a diverse portfolio of international clients. It was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2014, marking a huge milestone for the Group, and the same year, Eric was honored with the Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong in recognition of his exceptional achievements and dedication to the development of the manufacturing sector.
