An alumni visit to HKUST(GZ) campus offered a chance for the HKUST community to get an insight into what the buzz is all about. Organized by the Development and Alumni Office, HKUST SZ-HK Collaborative Innovation Research Institute and Office of the President of HKUST(GZ), more than 200 alumni from Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou came on November 19, the largest alumni delegation ever since its establishment in 2022.

Campus Highlights Impress Visitors

The visit offered the perfect opportunity for alumni to explore unique features on campus. Alumni witnessed the Highbay, an important space for showcasing and exchanging technological achievements at HKUST(GZ), and were treated to a drone performance. They also had a chance to visit the Campus Brain, the Operations Command Center that covers security, energy conservation, and facility management, the highly-developed smart campus leaving a very deep impression on visitors.

Alumni then received a full tour of the sports facilities including badminton hall, climbing wall, playground, and gymnasium, and took in the state-of-the-art Visitor Center with immersive promotional videos displayed on surround screens. If this was not impressive enough, alumni met with Prof. Wu Jingshen, Vice-President (Teaching & Learning) of HKUST(GZ), who provided an overview of policy guidance, geographical advantages, academic disciplines, and talent cultivation. To round off an amazing day, HKUST Alumni Association Guangzhou and Shenzhen Chapters held inauguration ceremonies and shared the latest news and events.
