Jiaya Jia, the Founder and Board Chairman of SmartMore, has achieved remarkable success in the field of computer science and artificial intelligence. His journey was greatly influenced by mentors from HKUST who inspired him to pursue top-of-the-line research. Jiaya's expertise spans computer vision, artificial intelligence, and computational imaging, and he has leveraged these skills to turn SmartMore into a unicorn company in Hong Kong.   

SmartMore, founded in 2019, specializes in applying AI to vision and optical technology, particularly in the realm of smart manufacturing. Their applications have diverse uses in precise machines, automotive, consumer electronics, new energy, and smart factories. Jiaya believes that the future lies in automating processes, allowing workers to monitor production lines separately from machines. He emphasizes that while the world is shifting towards automation, human involvement in quality control remains crucial, with AI acting as a safety net. 

SmartMore's commitment to innovation and futuristic applications is evident in the SmartMore Museum of Innovation in Shenzhen. SmartMore’s futuristic vision has seen it complete four rounds of funding within 18 months, the fastest smart manufacturing technology company to become a unicorn in Hong Kong, boasting hundreds of staff globally. 

Jiaya recognizes the potential of AI in various industries and considers this the best time in history for technological advancements. He advises budding entrepreneurs to learn about how the world of business runs and develop a unique and promising business model. He also emphasizes the importance of being prepared for the challenges and time-consuming nature of startup ventures.
